THE FIRST FRIDAY OF THE YEAR 1436 A.H THE ISLAMIC HIJRA CALENDA BEGINS TODAY, FRIDAY: The Islamic calendar is used by Muslims everywhere to determine the proper days on which to observe the annual fast of Ramadhan, Pilgrimage, Eid Festivals and many others. The Hijra calendar is very important and essential as an Islamic identity, but today it has been neglected and rejected by majority of contemporary Muslims. Why? ON CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE: Shaykh Muhammad Saleh Al-Uthaymeen (RH) said if someone offers you congratulatory message on 1st of Almuharram of Islamic new year, then respond to him, but do not initiate such greetings. This is the correct opinion concerning the matter. So if a person says to you, HApp new year then you can say, May Allaah make it a good and blessed year for you. but you should not initiate such greetings, because I do not know of any narration that our pious predecessors congratulated one another on the occasion of the year... May Allah forgive our sins in the previous year and make this new year to be a turning point for establishing new world of justice, mercy and piety,... HAPPY NEW YEAR & JUMAATUL MUBARAQ
