Join us to remember a lost & loved baby during Baby Loss Awareness Week 9th-15th October 2014 Wednesday 15th October 2014 At SandsNI Baby Garden. Kernan Cemetery,Kernan Hill Road Portadown The evening will start with the lighting of the candles at 7pm sharp. so please plan to be there from 6.45pm. This will be SandsNI participation in the Worldwide Wave Of Light when bereaved parents in every time zone in the world will light candles in memory of their babies at 7pm which steadily spreads Westwards around the world creating a Wave Of Light. Below are some of the comments weve had from parents over the past 3 years : I could stay at home to light my candle, but I like to make an effort for my little boy Being there, huddled in the summerhouse from the rain, made it even more special. We were all together holding our little candles and it felt so good to be there When I walked in to the garden and saw all the little lights along the path it took my breath away and the tears flowed for the whole hour, it was wonderful This year we again plan to provide tea, coffee, soup & hotdogs for everyone who comes along, friends & family are most welcome, and we hope to see many of you there, but, if you decide to light your candle at home, think of us as you light it. Please email/text Steven, our Co-ordinator if you plan to come along, we want to have enough hot beverages & food for everyone [email protected] 07587248977 The calmness of the Garden, the glow of the path lights, the other parents holding their candles or placing them around the garden made me feel so close to my little girl and, for the first time since she died, I didnt feel alone any more My friends thought I was mad to go to a cemetery on a cold dark October evening, but I didnt care what they thought, I wanted to be there to light my candle for him and shed a few tears the first year was all a little disorganised and confused, but that just made it even more special. It didnt matter, the thing was we were there remembering together Last year was a lovely evening and the soup & hotdogs were very welcome indeed was a little unsure about going to a cemetery at night, but it felt so normal and right to be there to remember our little baby with all the other parents
