Join your neighbors at Rahway Arts District’s Back Lot BBQ on Thursday, August 1st (Rain date: August 8). The party starts at 6PM. A hot buffet is available for $20 per person. The menu includes BBQ chicken, ribs, beef, rice and beans, red bliss potato salad, pasta with tomato-basil sauce, sliced watermelon, and iced tea. A cash bar featuring wine, beer, and other beverages will be available to diners. Seating is limited, so get your tickets in advance. Tickets are available at the UC PAC box office (1601 Irving Street) 11am-4pm on Tuesday 7/23 through Friday 7/26, and Tuesday 7/30 & Wednesday 7/31. Tickets will also be sold at the Rahway Arts office (1591 Irving Street) on Tuesday 7/23 & Wednesday 7/24 and Tuesday 7/30 & Wednesday 7/31. Cash only. The Rahway’s Own exhibit celebrates innovation and creative genius with Rahway roots. The exhibit features photographs, artifacts and artwork relating to notable innovators with Rahway connections – astronomer Carl Sagan, Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman, inventor Nikola Tesla, contemporary artist Richard Tuttle, novelist Carolyn Wells, chemist and corporate leader Roy Vagelos and others. The free public reception is on Thursday, August 1, 6-9PM.
