Joseph Moore (July 18, 1949 - September 9, 2014) Joe was one of Petes most loyal fans. Pete even had Joe program a Mixed Bag several years ago. Joe graduated from Fordham, with me, in 1971. He was a high school history and economics teacher whose former students adored him, which is a testament to his greatness. He grew up in Manhattans Stuyvesant Town and resided in Connecticut. He had ALS. A relative of Joes reported three hours ago, on Facebook, that he had died today. His wife, Betty, wrote two hours ago, Joe is with God now. He passed peacefully this morning while listening to his favorite music, his three favorite girls at his side, and his two dogs with him as well. For several years, Joe valiantly fought this devastating disease which deprived him of many of the things he loved, such as his guitar playing, taking walks with us, traveling to places he wanted to visit, counseling his students, and of course his voice--be it talking sports, music, history, or just making new friends wherever he was. The girls and I are OK and at peace that he is no longer suffering. Joe left me specific instructions about his funeral services, which I will make sure are met. Will let you know more as soon as I can.
