The recent Fox News special report featuring three security operators who were on the ground in Benghazi has already received rave reviews, according to Breitbart. It even prompted a statement from South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy, the Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. The three security personnel have co-authored a book, 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi, and appeared on the special to discuss its contents, walking host Bret Baier through the attacks of that night. Americans know that the attacks by radical Islamic terrorists on the U.S. diplomatic mission and nearby CIA annex on September 11, 2012, killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. But journalists say that the Fox special proves that “the story of Benghazi not only hasn’t fully been told; perhaps it has barely begun to be told.” The relaxed, informative nature of the special also drew comment. “This Fox special has been notable for its restraint: It’s just been Bret Baier and the three eyewitnesses. No speeches, just their eyewitness accounts,” one critic said. Fox News contributor James Pinkerton had this to say about the special: “I have been a Fox News Contributor since 1996, but I have never been prouder of Fox News’s journalistic enterprise than I have been in regard to its sleuthing out of the Benghazi story.” Those accounts have called into question portions of the Obama administration’s version of the events surrounding the attack and its aftermath–the security personnel, for instance, knew nothing about the infamous anti-Islam video on which Obama first tried to blame the attacks until they had been evacuated to Germany from Libya. The truth about these attacks and their aftermath must come out.
