Judge/Judgment/Judging: Entry 25 Isaiah 11:1-7 (Life Application Bible) The Royal Line of David will be cut off, chopped down like a tree; but from the stump will grow a shoot- yes, a new branch from the old root. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel and might; the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight will be obedience to the Lord. He will not Judge by appearance, false evidence or hearsay, but will defend the poor and the exploited. He will rule against the wicked who oppressed them. For he will be clothed with fairness and with truth. In that day, the wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the leopard and the goat will be at peace. Cows and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all. The cows will graze among bears; cubes and calves will lie down together, and lions will eat grass like the cows. WHAT THE SCRIPTURE IS SAYING How we long for fair treatment from others, but do we give it? We hate those who base their judgment on appearance, false evidence, or hearsay. But we are quick to judge others using those standards. Only Christ can be the perfectly fair Judge, and only as he governs our hearts can we learn to be as fair in our treatment of others, as we expect others to be towards us. Those who possess much, dare not neglect those who are denied the opportunities of obtaining justice. A golden age is yet to come. Such perfect tranquility is possible only when Christ reigns over the earth. MY THOUGHTS The hearts of man is a very valuable and powerful tool; but it is sad that it is less valued and cherished in this world as much as it should be and often by the carrier of the heart themselves to not even honor this factor with the keeper that granted it as a gift in the first place. Often time we assume, fight over our own individual perception of another, not really allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to stepping into the unknown, that we knowing or unknowing judge by appearance, false evidence and hearsay; not to mention lack of knowledge and humble wisdom. If we dont have the capability to know, hear, feel or even experience another persons being, then why do we first assume, our perception of them is correct? Moreover, what makes our treatment of them knowing or unknowing fair? Isnt our own perception a cause to be analyze by the perception of God himself? didnt we at one point graduate from a lack of perception from youth? then why, i wonder, do we not think, before we speak? Act? or even reflect on our own thought? Should we not hold ourselves with just as much accountability as those we hold responsible to keep stewardship of their accountability as well? What make our way the right way and the opposing individual the wrong way? Who says our perception is correct when our perception changes with the maturity of time. More to the point, why are we so guarded to just ask, experience or feel to the point of understanding each other. Each individual is valued by God, instead of assuming we know right, is it possible that person can grant a wisdom for you or like wise, you may be a wisdom for that person. Are we so quick to judge that we forget to be of good service to God, we forget about the value of a heart, a soul that God cherishes; that he would spare the lives of many for that one person. THE CHALLENGE My challenge exercise for you today, is know thy self through Gods perspective, and allow God to Govern your heart, so that you can learn to be as fair as Christ is, when he voluntarily gave his own life for us, then we take what he gave us, which is life, and learn his perspective on fair judgment and treatment of others and begin to apply this knowledge to the lives of others. One thought that usually comes to mind when gauging our judgment of others. Would the Words i say, the things i do, invite people to love God or turn them away. Do people see a light of God in you, to be comfortable to share their lifes testimony or do they walk away from you? We are a reflection or representative of God, what we do can effect, what reality gives us; if you only plant weeds your gardens will then be infected with dead soil and then more weeds, which in turn will not produce great beauty, but if you plant strong seeds among a pure soil, the blossoms of your efforts will produce greatness.
