Judy, hope the experience weve gained traveling twice a yr back & forth between Tx and Maui will help you & Rina on this day of travel. Sophie, my sons Lab, is 11 yrs old as well. On day of travel, we look like a comic strip ohana with all that we bring with us. Its all about making my son, Steven, and Sophie comfortable and keeping their needs in mind. If they are ok, then Im ok....sort of :) I try to tell myself that its just one day and focus on the moment cause I know my son is just happy being with Sophie and Sophie is just happy being with us. Last year, Sophie developed diabetes from having to take steroids for underlying inflammation, which no vet could figure how what was causing. Another Vet saved her life and he believes Sophie should continue living Aloha as long as possible. So, we have a couple of more things we drag along with us on day of travel....but we are together in the moment. I cant do these trips without the assistance of the airport crew, TSA & understanding. Nearly all work magic so that we can live Aloha. Hang in there, get some rest, and Rina will be fine too - hugs to you both. Aloha nui loa from Sophie to Rina - could be twins
