July 17,2014 Thursday, 15th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, help me to take on Your sweet yoke, lovingly embrace it and unite my life and will with Yours. Grant that I may not hesitate to approach You when I find life burdensome as You give me the strength to humbly and freely submit myself to You with the intention of following wherever You may lead. As You call me beyond the narrow perspective of my nature, help me to take up my share of Your saving cross so that I may share in Your suffering and in Your death to sin so that I may someday share in Your resurrection. Teach me how to be like You, how to be gentle and humble of heart as I learn how to follow Your ways. May I learn from You as I entrust my life to You and be liberated from the burden of guilt and from the oppression of sinful habits and hurtful desires. Shield me from all evil in times of trial that I may go beyond my own suffering in order to serve others out of love for You and my brothers and sisters. Set me free from my rebellious pride so I may walk daily on the path that You have set for me and rest in Your comforting presence. May I humbly turn to You that my soul may find rest, for only You can give me the spiritual refreshment that I long and hope for. Amen Based on Today’s Gospel: Matthew 11:28-30
