July 3rd, 2013. Weather Highlight(s): Today should be the last day for any significant lightning with the focus being southwest Oregon and eastern Oregon. Westerly flow associated with an incoming upper trough on Thursday will drop temperatures back to normal an lift humidities through the remainder of the 7-day period. Breezy conditions should not be excessive with incoming trough. Only isolated wet type thunderstorms are anticipated after today with best chance being in NE Washington. Fire Potential: Scattered lightning again today in NW04 and eastern Oregon PSAs will result in light to possibly moderate IA activity. The threat for new large fires remains fairly low, generally around a 5% chance. Any chance for large fires at all would be in grass and brush fuel types as higher elevation timber fuels sill on the moist side as indicated by ERC values.
