July Race for the Cure Rally The CenLa Race for the Cure Committee will be hosting the July Race Rally to engage and inspire participants for the upcoming 2014 CenLa Race for the Cure. Join volunteers, team members, captains and race newbies on Tuesday, July 22, 5:30 p.m. at Logan’s Roadhouse located at 2820 MacArthur Drive in Alexandria. Join us to learn more about the 2014 Race for the Cure, get ideas for building teams and fundraising tips. Gather your friends together for a great time all while helping make an impact in the fight against breast cancer. Don’t miss the opportunity to win great door prizes and pre-order Komen Merchandise so you can be Race Ready! The 2014 Race for the Cure will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, in downtown Alexandria. Participants are encouraged to register early for the race and join thousands of individuals committed to raising funds to support the fight against breast cancer. Louisiana has one of the highest breast cancer mortality rates. The funds raised by Race for the Cure participants are awarded to local organizations to provide screening, education, and treatment for uninsured women in our community. Without the communities support and fundraising efforts hundreds of women each year would go without needed screening and support.
