July Slice of Cake. It’s festival time. Festival dresses, floppy hats and sunglasses. I am totally stocked out with sunglasses and gorgeous scarves. I have great linen jackets and jumpsuits and a few relaxed style tops and dresses. New in for July a new range of jewellery from Tilly & Grace and Strata. The Shruti scarves are looking fresh and colourful with some new silk and silk and cotton mix from Katie Page. With big sarongs for the beach. It’s also festival season here in Ipswich with the Ipswich Arts Festival happening from now. It’s a full programme of events with something for the whole family. If you go online ip-art you can see the complete line up. I am looking forward to the 12th July with the Big Top events which includes the Bo Nanafana Prohibition Club and Arthur Pita’s Nobody’s Baby at the Corn Exchange and Global Rhythm on Christchurch Park. I want to see it all. We are still appealing for couples who want to be part of the Arthur Pita’s Nobody’s Baby. It’s based on the never ending dance marathon of 1935 and we need extra couples to shuffle and move around the space to be part of the performances. There are taster workshops on the 1st July with a couple of rehearsals. If you want to part of this contact Jane Langston at DanceEast on 01473 235572. You do not have to be an expert or extravert just willing and able. Our summer programme is available so that you can see everything we have going on here. As mentioned above Our Big Dance Weekend on Christchurch Park from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th . If you are going to Latitude from Thursday 17th July DanceEast will be at Pandora’s Playground holding classes and performances for everyone to join in and have fun. The Tree House appeal is doing a Colour Dash to raise money and I have attached the flyer as there is still time to sign up. Our summer schools and classes begin Monday 21st July to 8th August and includes workshops for tots to teens. Creative, contemporary, hip hop and story time theme. The full programme is available to view and book online. danceeast.co.uk There is more to come in August but I will save that till next time. We have lots happening on the Maritime weekend so put 15/16th and 17th in your diary. The Baby loves to Boogie Children’s Disco is very popular so I recommend pre booking. Call 01473 295230.
