June 15th 2013 Ruins By Liam Marc Berry Page 1 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. We are looking at a soldier making his way through a long abandoned and ruined looking building. The soldier is wrapped up warm in old and shabby looking uniform showing he has seen far better days and is dealing with hardships. He is carrying a sophisticated looking sniper rifle. 2. Medium shot. The soldier has reached a locked wooden door that won’t open as he pushes against it. He has a look of frustration. Soldier (stressed) Crap. 3. Medium shot. The soldier breaks open the door with is shoulder and great force as the wood splinters out from the broken wood around the lock. 4. Medium shot. From the front we see the soldier stopping himself from falling of a ledge from where the floor has collapsed. He looks shocked and scared. Soldier (shocked) Oh god… Page 2 (of 7) 1. Large shot. The building beyond the soldier has collapsed away to show a giant metropolis that looks abandoned and partially destroyed in what could look like a nuclear war with all the buildings looking black with white snow and ash all over. He is roughly a hundred floors up but maybe halfway up the building, the ledge leading directly to a connecting section of corridor yet to collapse. 2. Medium shot. He looks to his right to see a small ledge leading up to a long half collapsed bridge to a building across the large road between them. 3. Medium shot. He is now slowly making his way along the ledge with his back against the wall, his face showing he is concentrating on the task. Page 3 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. Soldier has made it along the ledge and is leaping to the corridor that hasn’t fallen away. 2. Medium shot. The soldier lands on his knees with a bit of force. A shot of pain is racing across his face. 3. Medium shot. The soldier is now picking himself and coughing into his free hand. 4. Medium shot. The soldier looks at his hand to see that he has coughed up some blood but does not seem alarmed. Soldier (calm) Keep it together, its only radiation. You still have time. Page 4 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. The soldier is walking towards the shattered doors leading to a half collapsed foot bridge spanning the distance between buildings, part of the floor having long collapsed. 2. Medium shot. He is now slowly walking across the bridge as he watches the floor for signs of damage. 3. Medium shot. He is now stood with the collapsed floor section in front of him. He is looking at the roads far below him. 4. Medium shot. From below we can see he is now jumping across the distance. Page 5 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. As he lands on the other side of the gap the floor is giving way under him as it collapses. The soldier looks scared. Soldier (scared) Arrrgh! 2. Medium shot. The soldier is clinging on with his legs dangling in mid-air, his face looks more desperate. 3. Medium shot. The soldier is pulling himself back onto the bridge with his face looking red as he strains to get up. Soldier (strained) Aaaah! 4. Medium shot. His is now on his knees panting with a relieved face now that he is safe again. Page 6 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. The soldier is now the other side of the bridge in another dilapidated building with his rifle ready to shoot. Soldier (calm) Hello, anyone here? 2. Medium shot. He approaches a window with no glass on the other side of the building with a skeletal body leant against the wall. Soldier (startled) Jesus! 3. Medium shot. The soldier looks down at the remains with a very uncomfortable look on his face. Soldier (sad) Poor bastard. 4. Medium shot. The soldier then pulls the human remains away from the window back inside the building further. Page 7 (of 7) 1. Medium shot. The Soldier is now aiming down to the street where we can see a convoy of black military vehicles driving up an abandoned city street. Soldier (excited) Ha, right on time. Now where are you? 2. Medium shot. The soldiers face starts to smile as he has clearly found his target and prepares to fire. Soldier (excited) Bingo. 3. Medium shot. A singles shot now passes through the soldiers head with little effort but causing massive damage. 4. Medium shot. We are now looking at a soldier in a futuristic black air tight outfit with connecting helmet with what looks like a gas mask is looking down at the now dead soldier from across the road and three floors up. Enemy Sniper (amused) Bingo! This is escort one, sniper down. Keep an eye out in case he has any friends. Text The End
