June 28, 2014 Gods Home Zechariah 2:10-13 TODAY WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY - HUGH 80S - NOT THAT HUMID. JOSH ASKED IF I WANTED TO COME OUTSIDE AND WATCH HIM WORK ON THE YARD. AS I SAT AND THOUGHT ABOUT MY LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN THAT OUR BACKYARD HAS BECOME - I HAD TO THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE. MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER. HOW IS YOURS? God has initiated all of this. He is springing into action for us. He did this when he came as Immanuel. God longs to be with us, to have a relationship with us. As we live by his Spirit, we enter into that relationship. Read The LORD says, Shout and rejoice, O beautiful Jerusalem, for I am coming to live among you. Many nations will join themselves to the LORD on that day, and they, too, will be my people. I will live among you, and you will know that the LORD of Heavens Armies sent me to you. The land of Judah will be the LORDs special possession in the holy land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem to be his own city. Be silent before the LORD, all humanity, for he is springing into action from his holy dwelling. (Zechariah 2:10-13) Reflect The Lords promise to live among his people is a consistent theme throughout Scripture (Leviticus 26:11-12; Numbers 14:14). In the beginning God had walked in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:8). At the end of time, God will once again make his home among his people (Revelation 21:3). Here in Zechariah, God reminds his people of his generous promise. His people would not be just the Jewish people. They would be made up of many nations. Believers around the world are the beneficiaries of this generosity. We are not all Jewish, but are from the many nations. We will not experience Gods full presence with us until the end of the age, but Jesus promised to be with us always by his Spirit, who is our guarantee of all that God has promised to us (Matthew 28:20; John 14:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:5, 8; Ephesians 1:13-14). Respond God has initiated all of this. He is springing into action for us. He did this when he came as Immanuel. God longs to be with us, to have a relationship with us. As we live by his Spirit, we enter into that relationship.
