June was truly a watershed month for the world as we knew it before. June is PRIDE month and this June for the GLBT community was momentous. With the US Supreme Court handing down two landmark rulings on June 26th regarding equal marriage rights it provided a wonderful memorial for the 44th annual celebration of the Stonewall riots two days later and uplifted the GLBT community to new heights. Locally, the month of celebration was topped off on June 29th with a brand new annual 6k run supporting the Northeast Florida AIDS Network. Kudos to Chris Day for being the catalyst and making his vision come true. Over 300 runners/walkers participated. That evening was topped off by the comedic talents of Margaret Cho at the Florida Theatre...benefiting Oasis and Jasmyn. June 2013 will truly be a month to remember!
