Just Recently, I saw 12years a Slave and it Reminded me of What Our Fore- Fathers Suffered Before they were Finally Granted Freedom. Ive read lots of Books on African History and the evolution of Man. Some of them argue that the Black men were actually the First on earth, So this Questions Comes to Mind. What is it that hindered our Development enough that the white men came and Met us weaponless and half Unclad in the bushes? and Where even able to intimidate us enough to control, domesticate and eventually trade us for money. Till today we still cant match their development in any way. we still copying albeit not so effectively. What exactly is wrong with We Africans?? Okay Fine, We were enslaved and then Colonised. We celebrated Independence but we have never Achieved it. We failed to develop our countries in that an average kid in sub-saharan Africa still dreams of going to the west. Ever Heard of Imperialism and Neo-colonialism?? This time, they dont bring ships, we willingly travel thousands of miles to go act as slaves, Doing all kinds of ridiculous Menial jobs. Some Even die trekking across the sahara, Some even drown just to cross the meditaranean sea, Why are we still Mentally Enslaved? Why cant we develop Our Home? Why do we Let Greed and Corruption Becloud Our Judgement? why Cant we Consume what we Produce and Place a Ban on the Importation of any Products we can Manufacture here? why dont we take a Cue from China? Nigeria on a Normal Basis is Richer than Most of these Western Countries but they still grant us loans and Developmental Aids, Where do all our Money Disappear to? Young Beautiful Girls Trafficked day in Day Out to Europe For Prostitution instead of Giving them Sound Education, Dont We have a Sense of Dignity? From My Vantage Point, I would Never Give Up on Africa/Nigeria. We have to Spear-head these Campaign to Emancipate Ourselves From Mental Slavery Because Slave Trade Might Have been Bad, But Mental Slavery is worse. @CharlesEnwere
