Just a few days ago, one thing came to my understanding about Eid and the Ramadan fasting. Eid is for only those who are in a continuous refinement process of the soul. And fasting means abstaining oneself from any type of pride, greed, power, anger, hunger, lust, enviousness, babbling etc or in a word to sacrifice all sorts of fascination for consumption and gratification of anything. Those who have become successful in attaining the above qualities or who are in a continuous refinement process of their souls have the right to celebrate the Eid. As per the understanding, this time also I am a failure. In the continuous refinement process of my soul, I am really a very poor Muslim and a poor human being. But still I hope, by the grace of Almighty Allah and Duas of my well wishers, I shall be able to develop myself inshallah in the days to come and celebrate the Eid. All my heartfelt good wishes to all for a happy and prosperous Eid.
