Just a leeetle bit hokey, but accurate, and I think its a conversation we need to be having. As the proud son of a manly man, Ive gotten to witness first hand in my life just how powerful, honorable, and full of integrity a strong expression of masculinity can be. And Ive watched how wounded and discouraged, and almost guilty many of my male brothers are. Ive heard them say shit about how all men are rapists on the inside and ridiculous crap like that. Were steadily killing off all our examples of quality men by not setting strong examples for what that is. I think an entire generation of worthless fathers certainly didnt help, but neither has profound ridicule of qualities that have nothing to do with masculinity, like domination and rape. Men, its on us to redefine to our brothers what being a Man actually means. If we dont, well just see another generation of children raised by single mothers, and well eventually stop knowing what a real man even looks like. Scary.
