Just a thought: As I have mentioned before Ive been in church 50 - TopicsExpress

Just a thought: As I have mentioned before Ive been in church 50 years and a true christian for forty years. For a good twenty years I was like any other young person, one foot in church and the other foot doing what I wanted to do. I learned quite a few things from attending bible study, church on Sunday morning and back in the days BTU and night service. I breathed church because my dad was a Deacon and my mom was a Deaconess for 60 years and you see and hear a lot when your parents are leaders in a church. I know some of you may say why is she talking about St. John MBC so much? I will let you know why. I have never served under a preacher who talks about some of his membership in a derogatory way, favors certain members over others, of course many of these messages are subliminal and you really have to pay attention to whats being said. Today he said, how loving his wife is to members and how he loves her, this is good and very appreciative for members to know. But I will give (2) examples of situations that have happened to me (which lacks this so called love to members). As some of you may already know I was going to do a program in September. I took the program that I had wrote and gave it to the pastors wife. One-two hours later I get a phone call from the chairperson who asked me to initially do the program. She asked me was I loyal to the pastor and we conversed for a minute over that. What was the subliminal message behind her asking me that? Why did she call me 1-2 hours after I gave the program to the pastors wife? If she so called love every member why she didnt ask me that question when I gave her the program. The second situation that happened is I was blocked from receiving church information from St. John MBC. My sister received a Facebook post on Friday referring to the pastor and wifes anniversary. If they so called loved each member then why do only certain members receive church Facebook post and others dont. In laymans term this is favoritism. Favoritism is destructive for spiritual leadership. When favoritism becomes part of a churches dynamics the integrity of the church system may collapse. In the church, favoritism can be a train wreck, which causes corruption and lack of integrity of that church leadership. Any type of favoritism in the church body is unjustifiable and baseless. When church leaders practice favoritism they are inviting issues to help complicate the business of saving souls. JUST A FOOTNOTE: I know for sure that God loves me unconditionally. I dont need the pastor or his wife to be fake stating that they love each member because that is not true. As I stated before If anyone does not like what I am saying you dont have to read it and dont respond to something you know nothing about. One thing we can agree upon is that God truly loves us all and he demonstrates that to us on a daily basis.
