Just after the 1st World war, there was a American consul in - TopicsExpress

Just after the 1st World war, there was a American consul in Finland during the battles between the Reds and the Whites. In a particularly complicated set of circumstances he wired the Department of State and requested urgent instructions as to whether he should raise the American flag over the premises he was occupying. The Department, after due deliberation and consultation of the record, came back with a two-word instruction: "No precedent." A day or two later another cable was received in Washington from the Counsel. It was also only two words. It read: "Precedent established." I find it impossible to give deference to our Chief Executive while he practices the bended knee to our enemies vice standing strong and resolute in the ways that have made our country great.~GunnyDoug
