Just back from my local Tesco store where I had to abandon trolley when I spotted they were selling Israeli potatoes. I asked to speak to the manager and he was understanding of my concerns. He told me that other members of the public had expressed their upset but that the directive from above was that they were going to continue to stock Israeli produce. I told him that Tesco Ireland should explain to UK HQ that the parallels between Palestine struggle of occupation and people being evicted from their homes and land are too similar to ours for us not to be empathetic. I asked him to note my complaint and that Ill be writing to HQ. I nearly started crying when I was relaying how people of Gaza and West Bank are denied water when rivers are diverted to feed those bloody potatoes in my trolley.
