Just back from watching Interstellar at The Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal... wow... wow... First impressions before a more detailed review after sleeping on it: VERY long (bum-numbingly long, actually, wouldnt have suffered from 20mins trimmed off it)... visually stunning in places... spectacular landscapes... good performance by Ann Hathaway, Matthew M emoted impressively and Michael C phoned in his reliable English Professor routine... fascinating robots... pretty decent science (not too bothered about that, its a film, not a documentary)... bit mumbo-jumboy at the end, very Contact... amazing effects, but not as amazing as the way the family behind us managed to eat crisps All The Way Through The Film without pausing for ******* breath. I think they must have found a way to repeatedly send a packet of crisps back in time - maybe by passing it through a black hole - to refill it and eat it all over again, quite staggering. Seriously, if I had a TARDIS Id travel back in time to the time, date and place where that numptie decided that it would be a great idea to sell the worlds noisiest, crunchiest foods in a place where you want as quiet an atmosphere as possible... But yes, great film. Not a classic, I dont think, but thought-provoking and impressive.
