Just because you dont personally struggle with any type of mental - TopicsExpress

Just because you dont personally struggle with any type of mental illness or addiction doesnt make it less real for those who DO struggle with it, and it doesnt make those people less deserving of help. They do not need your pity, they need your understanding and compassion. Get off your high horses and check yourself. Just because it may not be a tangible illness... just because there may not be fevers, bleeding, vomiting etc. (and sometimes there ARE those things regardless) doesnt mean it doesnt exist, and that its a real problem. If you are not a psychologist and/or if you have not or are not struggling with any mental health problems, shut your trap and stop judging people who DO and dont put labels on them. It is NOT your place to judge, mock, laugh, or bully. Its extremely insulting, and you are adding to the culture that mocks, and ridicules those who are struggling. That is extremely problematic. If you wont mock and ridicule cancer patients, ex soldiers, or anyone with a terminal illness or a reason to act the way they do, then shut up. Have some respect for those fighting other battles (physical and/or mental) you dont understand. The fact that you dont understand it or havent experienced it gives you even LESS of a right to judge them... (let alone at all...)
