Just finished the 3-Gun Nation Southwest Regional. It was a tough match due to nasty central Texas weather, but the stages were all fun and challenging. I pulled out 11th in Tac Optics after fighting pistol malfunctions and my own stupidity (I had four Failures to Engage on one stage). If I hadnt made that one mistake, I would have been in the top 5. But the only score that counts is the one you get, and I feel like I made a good recovery from that disaster. Heres the last stage I shot. I had a stage win here by seven seconds. The three black Pepper Poppers at the beginning were slug targets at around 40 yards, the next array is 16 birdshot including two flying clays. The pistol targets were three paper and three mini-poppers at 25 yards and the rifle targets were a plate rack at 100 and six MGM Targets BCC Flashers out to 275. The new PROOF Research barrel performed extremely well at its first match, even with a little 14.5 I took 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the long range stages.
