Just got back a couple of hours ago from Oakland, FL, shooting the flag raising and dedication of a Home At Last house for the disabled Afghanistan vet, Marine Corporal, C.J. Barnes and his family. C.J, his wife Katey, and infant son, Max will have this brand new 4 bedroom house, fully furnished, debt free, everything being donated by various people, businesses and organizations. This is the 5th Home At Last house in Oakland. No other city anywhere near has as many, making it one of the most patriotic cities in the country. Some of the luminaries there for the occasion included, Rep Dan Webster (R-FL), Kathy Stark, Mayor of Oakland and 4 star Marine General (ret) James Jones. There were camera crews from CBS, channel 6 and channel 2. My daughter-in-law, Tena McGuff, was in charge of the construction and asked me to take some pictures. Then fellow Osceola County Camera Club members, Dave Parrone and Ed Wainwright, volunteered to help me out. So, now, I have a few hundred of my own pictures, plus a few hundred from Dave and some video from Ed to wade through to put together some memories for C.J., his family, and some of the donors and volunteers.
