Just got home from the Youth To Youth International Conference and - TopicsExpress

Just got home from the Youth To Youth International Conference and I must say, I am glad to be home, but I had an amazing week, with some amazing people, young and old. Its about the youth though; and getting them to take what theyve learned back to their community. Before ending the conference this morning I sat back and did some reflecting and I want to share something with you that I shared with my small group: I sat this morning looking at a fountain, the water spurting out of a hole in the ground, the water around it moving and bubbling, and then draining off to the side. As I stared at it I realized how relevant this was to what we are doing. The day before the fountain was off, it was shut down for some maintenance, I remember how the water just sat, stagnant. You see, each of the youth at this conference are a fountain in their communities, when the fountain is on, when the youth are active, the water is moving around them, the fountain is influencing the water to do something, they are being the change. The even cooler part about this is what happens to the water in a fountain when it goes into the drain, the fountain causes the water to move, which causes it to drain, where it then becomes A PART OF THE FOUNTAIN. The youth have such an influence on their peers, they have the capability to make their community move, they have the ability to make their fountain bigger, and bigger. The potential of these fountains, the potential of our youth, is limitless, but they must never turn THEIR fountain off, they must never give up, for if the fountain is off, the water around them is still, and no new water becomes a part of the fountain. This, my friends, is the true Fountain of Youth. Thank you for a great week Y2Y!!!! #y2y2014
