Just had an elderly cat with FORL- yes its painful- problem for clients is deciding if they can afford to have the work done - if the teeth are not extracted it means the cat is living in pain. So sad. We can never tell how long a cats life is going to be, but having the ability to test for organ function prior to anaesthesia and also using helpful antioxidants like coenzyme q 10 and pain relief post surgery- usually helps the cat go through surgery well- and extractions is often brilliant relief for the cat! They act young again.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_odontoclastic_resorptive_lesion
