Just letting all of you know that we are all good here at home. LOKI continues to find every deep puddle of water he can find and every mud hole he can find. The result being a very good boy, standing still once I get him in the house, while I towel him down. Course the increase in laundry is getting a might redundant. Just like a big kid, I guess he likes the feel of wet mud squishing between his toes. Makes me fully aware of the size of those paws, especially when I am wiping up the muddy wet footprints off my laminate wood floors. But, hey, who cares, this is Our Boy I am talking about, and Loki can do no wrong. As Bonnie C so aptly puts it he is a good man. He has developed a rather gourmet palate and will not take his cookies now unless they are dipped in milk. Yes, he loves his milk and continues to get a small bowl each night after our last evening walk. He makes sure I do not wait too long to give it to him, and will pace back and forth from the den to the kitchen, tail up and prancing. If I sit and just talk to him, or pretend to ignore him, then that beautiful big head is in my face, and those gorgeous amber eyes give me a clear message to get off my butt. How can I refuse? You know I cant. Once he has his bowl, then he will either lay or sit at our feet, going through the ritual of getting a good back scratch, and tummy rub,, I must reach under him for the tummy rub, as Loki maintains his dignity and never rolls onto his back in the submissive position. I hope he never does. When I think how this time last year I was still sleeping each night out in the run with him...OMG... how I got so sick because of doing that...again OMG....I guess some people likely thought I was nuts. I did what I felt was best for him and despite the criticism as well as the sincere concern voiced for my welfare, my actions paid off big time. I am working on Chapter 1 of the book, a basic background on myself first, I feel it important to give some form of personal history and insight, on this Animal Nut, as I have been called so many times. Knowing what makes me tick and why might help explain the extreme actions I felt I had to take to ensure Lokis safety, health and life. Have to get his breakfast now folks. Hope to be back soon.
