Just like a battery needs to be recharged so do our bodies, minds and souls. God blessed me with a chance to do so over the last few days and I am so grateful to him for that. We often become so busy with the hustle and bustle of the world around us that we fail to stop and look at the things in life that really matter. The quiet peace of watching the sunset with someone you love and the beautiful scene and gorgeous array of colors that it creates as it slowing fades from the horizon, the smell of a freshly blooming Mimosa tree and the childhood memories that go with it, the sound of a heavy summer rain on the porch roof above you and the calm assurance that those you love are safely tucked inside warm and dry or the laughter of a precious child, there is no sweeter music on earth. God in his infinite wisdom and love for us knew that we as humans would need a safe haven and a place to regroup and heal and be made whole again, a place where we know and feel with out question the unconditional love around us regardless of the mistakes we might have made and thus he gave us families. I believe that the love of a family is a small glimpse of what Heaven will be like for the Bible says there will be no pain or hurting or sorrow there and when I am surrounded by my family that is exactly how I feel. Gods love for us is pure and unburdened with conditions just like the love that family members should and do have for one another and I dont believe that it is coincidence that our salvation and the form in which it came to us has direct ties to family as well. John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. God gave His son Jesus and how it must have grieved Him to do so but that gift signifies His tremendous unending love for us and forever ties to the love of God the importance of family. If you are tired today, if you need to have your battery recharged or just need to be with those you love and you know love you, reach out to them ask God to give you that gift he wants to do so and will and I can assure if it involves a trip or just going home and sitting on the porch and talking for a while, you will never regret investing that time. Be sure however to slow down, relax and let those blessings engulf you for there is no better feeling.
