Just like to reflect about something on Veterans Day. My father lay dying in a cattle car in 1945.He was locked in sitting on top of dead bodies in total darkness.Starved and nearly defeated when the doors were pryed open and nearly blinded by the sunlight he saw his 1st black GI. HE was like WTF ?!?!like what now.They identified themselves as Americans and told them they were free.Even gave him a pistal to shoot any Nazis he may encounter.Then he was taken to a german farm house where the owners were commanded to feed and let him bath. ANYWAY... just IMAGINE THE MILITARY WAS STILL SEGREGATED!!!! I want to thank that BLACK BATTALION,I wish I new more about them.Just my thoughts on labor day.But WWll was won by many courages men and ofcourse the Russians also fought a hell of a fight to defeat facism that almost took over the world and almost annihilated the jewish race.so thanking uncle joe too.
