Just looking to pick knowledge from anyone who might have a clue about these symptoms in a dog. I will start by saying that we just got back from OSO and they are not sure what is wrong. He was given a full blood panel and it came back PERFECT, which was surprising because he is 14 years old. He is now on antibiotics and Benadryl. So... he ended up getting a very red and swollen mouth - noticeable when you look inside, not so much on the outside. His lips are a little cracked and he is in some pain there. That is the only place he is showing any pain. The odd thing is that his belly is also strangely deep red. Not like he has been itching at all, like under the skin red. Maybe like hives. The red can be seen through his fur in a few other places. He is somewhat itchy though, mostly using his paw to scratch at his face. Initial thought was a bug bite and that could still be a cause, but we could not find a bite site and I looked over every inch of him. Can any of you think of anything else that could cause these symptoms or have you had a dog that had anything similar? Hopefully the medication will take care of whatever happened, but I would feel better looking into possible causes.
