Just made penne in meat sauce casserole dish, easy 1,2,3... Makes 8 servings (335 calories a serving) Ingredients: Meat sauce: 1lb ground beef chuck 3 tsp minced garlic in olive oil 1 whole green pepper, chopped 1/2 yellow onion, chopped 1 can petite diced tomatoes, no salt added 1 small bottle of prego meat flavored sauce. Other: 1 box of whole wheat penne pasta 1 can (24oz) Hunts four cheese pasta sauce 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 1. Brown ground beef and press down with wood spoon to loosen it. Drain then add green peppers, onions, garlic and diced tomatoes. Mix well and cook additional 5 minutes. Then add prego meat sauce, mix and cover on medium heat. (Preheat oven 250 degrees) 2. After that boil water for pasta and cook as directed on box, (I like to boil 2 minutes less then max time allowed for al dente). Drain. 3. Use a 4 qt. Casserole dish and place 1st layer of meat sauce, then pasta, then add four cheese sauce and top with shredded cheese. 4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake 250 degrees for 25 minutes and dinner is ready or put in refrigerator right away for up to 2 days. (Easy to heat up when you scoop out 1 serving at a time on stove about 5 minutes in frying pan. Serve with a salad and garlic bread, enjoy!
