Just over decade ago, in the early morning hours of Dec 26th, 2004. A massive underwater quake measuring 9.1 on the richter scale shattered the seafloor just off the N.W coast of Sumatra. The mega-quake triggered one of the largest Tsunamis in recorded history, with waves up to 30 m high that spread out in all directions and utterly devastated coastal communties around the Indian Ocean from Banda-Aceh, Indonesia to Khao-Lak Thailand, from Batticaloa, Sri-Lanka all the way to the shores of Somalia. Within hours it left a quarter of a million dead or missing and nearly 2 million displaced... 10 years on, this is a hymn to the fallen… A prayer for those who were left behind to pick up the pieces on that fateful December day and a salute to those who fought back against unimaginable odds to rebuild their lives, the lives of their families and their communities.... bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-30034501
