Just posted this to the #homedepot website, I think at this point I need to go to social media to get any action on this. Over a month and a half ago I purchased a washer/dryer unit for my elderly parents condo. We paid full price, paid for delivery, paid for installation and thought nothing of it as we have always had such positive experiences with home depot. As of the same day of delivery and installation, the unit did not work. My mother contacted home depot, was redirected through whirlpool and the group they use for local delivery and back and forth. Service reps have come out to service the machine, but do not actually do so as the individuals that are coming out are not capable of physically pulling the unit out. They have gone so far as to ask my father, an elderly man with Parkinsons disease and his arm in a sling, to assist in moving the machine - Really?! There have been multiple service calls between #Whirpool itself and the installation team they use that have not actually serviced the machine but my parents have remained home for the window allotted to be told they cannot access the machine. I spoke with Whirpool and was told by one of their customer service representatives (Diane) that our warranty could technically be void as the machine is in an inaccessible location - the location their team installed and the location that was legally allotted for a washer/dryer when the apartment was built. Its completely unacceptable that this game has been going on for the better part of 6 weeks. That my parents, elderly and not in the best health, have not had access to laundry in their home. I must say, the Home Depot of Hawthorne has been incredibly responsive and helpful but unable to do much since these two other companies that Home Depot relies on for its customers is playing games. I am shocked and appalled at the treatment we have received when we have had nothing but patience and understanding with the companies involved. Something needs to be done and I am at the end of my rope with no one else to contact.
