Just read a great story in the comments on Adam-Troy Castros post about Bob Hoskins. Seems that Bob made one of his biggest paychecks for NOT appearing in a movie. Brian DePalma put Hoskins on retainer to play Al Capone in the Untouchables in case Robert DeNiro turned down the part. Bob took the check, pretty sure that DeNiro would take the job. Turns out he did and Hoskins pocketed a cool 7 figure salary without doing a days work. Rumor has it that when he got the check, he called Brian DePalma to ask if there were any other movies that he DIDNT want him to be in. :) Thanks for the story, Adam-Troy Castro.
