Just read this on a prayer site I go to often (sacredspace.ie) and it really spoke to me. Something to think and pray about this week Your graced life read more... Each of us is infinitely loved – that is the simple message of the gospels and the core meaning of our lives. You, then, are a glorious mystery, and so is everyone else. It is good to keep growing in appreciation of this mystery, until it is fully revealed when you encounter God face to face. The mystery, Saint Paul tells us ‘is Christ in you, the hope of glory’ (Colossians 1:27). Your image of yourself may be of someone who plods along dully day by day. Nothing remarkable seems to happen. Yet God is busily crafting something glorious from the raw material of your years. So he did with Jesus: his life looked very ordinary; his glory shone out briefly on one occasion, in his Transfiguration. But in his Passion he looked anything but glorious, and as Saint Matthew says, when he died there was only darkness over the earth. But then came his resurrection. So we miss the point by looking for glory in the outer shape of our lives. It is on the inside that grace is working its transforming power, making us truly like God in whose image we were made.
