Just said goodbye to a week-long guest from Germany, who was working on his dissertation and doing some mountain climbing here. What a nice young man he is! I hope he will return to the U.S. for a post-doc with his girlfriend, who just finished her doctorate. He loved northern NH, climbed Mt. Washington and Mt. Chocorua, and appreciated the local scene. It was such a treat to engage in conversation over dinners with him and vicariously enjoy his discovery of the region.
