Just the ramblings of an old retired Gunner here, but I believe taking away initiation is absolutely terrible! Shame on MCPON for even considering it, but eventually a spineless jellyfish would rise to a position of authority. Its just so sad that he could forget his roots like that. I remember my training quite vividly to this day! Some of the stuff we did was absolutely asinine (or so I thought at the time). I believe I even voiced my disdain for such antics but lo and behold, I needed EVERY one of those bits of wisdom somewhere further on in my career. And besides, some of those tasks were down right hilarious (again, not at the time, but looking back, HAHAHAHAHA that shit was funny!!!!)
