Just thinking about my dad today. He passed away 16 years ago today on April 14, 1998. One of the many things I miss is attending the traditional Fast of the First Born service with my dad (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_of_the_Firstborn). A service I attended with him from the time I was pretty young until the year before he passed away. My dad passed away during the Passover holiday in 1998 which is why I have a hard time with this holiday each year. I havent been able to find the strength to attend the Fast of the First Born service without him. I learned many things from my dad, and I continue to live each day as full as I can because of this. My dad helped teach me to find my work/life/balance and to pursue my own passions and my dreams while helping others purse their own. Dad I miss you.
