Just to update everyone. The extreme mouth pain that I was experiencing was an infection in my jaw bone brought on by a root canal cracking. They had to extract two teeth, one that was perfectly good. I lost a lot of bone and they are trying to regrow it. It deteriorated down to the nerve and I believe that that was contributing to my phantom smells. The surgery was done on Tuesday. The surgery was delayed because of my other surgery. My face is swollen like a monster. I can barely open my mouth or even get food in. I ate something this morning. The pain is ridiculous but is managed well with the painkillers that he prescribed. They work better when I cut them in half. I have missed all of the Christmas parties and celebrations but I have been enjoying the pictures and comments on Facebook. I want to thank everyone for all of the text and calls. I just cannot hardly talk. Merry Christmas and much love to all of you.
