Just today I wrote a letter that was published in the Waterbury - TopicsExpress

Just today I wrote a letter that was published in the Waterbury Republican American and I had something on my mind when I wrote it. In Waterbury, Connecticut a northern state where many migrated to from the farms of the south to find better opportunity and jobs in the factories and brass mills during the during World War. I was nine months old when I got here and lived in settlement housing at the top of long hill. I watch everything thing I could over the years in cities like Bridgeport, New York City, Indianapolis, In., New Haven, Hamden and back into Waterbury. In other words, I was there with King, Malcolm, Rangel, Jessie and Al and many, many more. But I never forgot how far behind we were in Waterbury, Connecticut where today I applaud the election of the first African American to Chair a Charter Revision Commission on this day 50 years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed by President Johnson in the photo that you see attached. But we still have a ways to go to overcome the taxation without representation in the City of Waterbury, Connecticut where we have locked out of the process through an antiquated charter. Its not over yet here is it?
