Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came to our party Thursday night. It was great to see some of the Fabulous Fifty that I came on the job with. Also, some friends from grammar school and high school who came out. Thanks to the band members who came. The Band has always been a big part of my life, and I appreciate all the guys that came and played. Thanks, also to John Khader for the limo that took our friends and family to and from the party. It added a special touch of class to the occasion. Thanks to Pete Mullen for the motorcycle escort to the party. Hes a great addition to the unit. Thanks to Nick Nicastro and his band Lost Soulz for keeping the party going. You guys are great. Thanks to City Council President Liam McLaughlin for coming and presenting us with proclamations from him and the Mayor. It was a great night and a fitting end to our 60 years of service to the City of Yonkers. As I said that night, they dont give you a badge when you get sworn in, they give you a front row ticket to the greatest show on earth. You get to go behind the yellow tape and see the worst of humanity. But you also get to see the best of humanity in the men and women that you are privileged to serve alongside. I wouldnt change a minute of it. Now on to Surfside Beach where the only worry were going to have is the tide gonna reach my chair.
