Just went thru an emotionally draining week. Thot we had a place to put Mom in but that blew up in our faces, so really had to scramble to find another facility because the Medicare time was running out on us for her being in a nursing home for therapy. We were fortunate to find a facility with memory support that had an opening, so it was a week of hurry to sign papers, moving/clearing out her furniture of her assisted living apartment to the new facility, getting her transported and settled in her new surroundings which she promptly told us she didnt like it after being there only a little over an hour. We told the director that she was upset and we left to let them handle the problem. All this was done in what had to be the hottest week to do it in! Seeing your Mother decline with Dementia is not a pretty thing to see and is hard on the family to cope with. A big thank you to my grandsons for coming forth with strong backs and a pickup to help move Great Grandma to her new digs.
