Just woke up after a bad dream. Before continue my sleep, checked my Facebook wall and found this story from halal paradise- -Saudi Arabia. The news is about an Ethiopian Muslim maid hacked her employer ( madam) to death. The news doesnt explain any potential reasons as to why maid had heckled her madam to death. But those who know the working conditions for poor maids know the reality in this halal paradise where prophet Mohammed was born. The working condition was and is utterly inhumane for many maids. It can be well argued as slavery. And Islam has been used to justify it. Though Islam urges to treat slaves humanely , the practices of gulf countries with regard to maids were and are more than horrible. Sadly, Muslims across the world seldom raise their voice. To me, what has been occurring in the halal paradise is nothing but the continuity of eastern slavery. As I said a few days ago on Islam and slavery thread on my wall , slavery has been continuing in gulf countries though we dont acknowledge such practices as slavery. Ok, need to continue my sleep.
