K so last time while covering Dt 24:19 i neglected to focus on the that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands. - clause. People are asking me to make my sermons shorter but they need to be longer to include the stuff i be forgetting lol. So the first bit of that section was the forgetting a sheaf in the field & not returning to get it bit - so obeying this law that we should have seen is for the purpose to teach us compassion for the poor has the effect of YHVH giving us His blessings in all the projects we put our hands unto. We have seen a few laws that have this benefit of obeying it before - so the next time i go through the bible i should keep track of them & make a list. Dt 25:4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. K so this one looks totally straightforward saying to give some mercy to your animal & if you have it working in your field all day dont stop it from eating some of the produce along the way if it is hungry. So like last time i mentioned how something can be totally clear in the physical realm & have a spiritual meaning that is hidden until revealed (Speaking of that particular passage God taught me something about it right after i was done with the sermon*) this passage we are looking at today has a meaning that Paul gives us in the NT that gives us an example of what i am talking about - 1 Cor 9:1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. 3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. So in this section Paul is defending himself from a group in Corinth that think he is full of nonsense - So he was saying that because their church exists & he founded it he is an apostle - (Acts 18:1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. 3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. & 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.) & during his discourse he said that he didnt have to do secular work if he didnt want to but did anyway as we saw in Acts 18:3 - because he was like the oxen working in Gods field on the people there it should be no big deal for him to collect tithes. But i like how in the 12th & 19th verse of 1 Cor 9 Paul is saying that he didnt do it so that they didnt think he was in it for the money. Well there is a time for every purpose under the heaven so Paul probably asked for money at least a couple times (once in the scriptures here 1 Cor 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. 4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me. & again here 2 Cor 11:8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.) but both of those times if he indeed asked he was not asking for himself but for others. Ummm so it is between you & God if He sanctions you asking for money like Moses did to build the tabernacle then go ahead but if not i just have faith in the fact that God will not send you anyplace that He will not take care of you, & He will not give you a mission that He has not already allocated all the necessary resources to finish it. Well back to muzzling oxes if your pastor is teaching you stuff before they ask for money dont get an attitude like they dont deserve to get paid for their service. If he is steady asking for money & not teaching you anything - dont pay unless God gives you a direct command to give to him anyway. But my whole trip is here - 2 Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. - whatever God puts on your heart to give is what you are supposed to be giving & so i dont have to ask you for anything because if you are supposed to give me something God will tell you to do it without me having to say anything about it. Ok so the next section is really long so i will save it for next time out of mercy to the minuteman gospel people (you know those people who say i dont have time for long sermons, if you cant give me what you got in less than a minute i am outta here) - like i was saying there is such a thing as milk & such a thing as meat - 1 Pet 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: & Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. - the meat takes time to chew so if all the gospel you are getting only takes a minute then i am scared if you even know how to chew the meat let alone digest it & then give it out to other people later on. Sorry if i am irritated but i am with the people telling me to make my sermons shorter - it normally takes an hour or more to produce & another 45 min or so to post to all the groups who are getting this & then you read it in 5 minutes or less unless you are like me & take the time to check if i am getting the addresses of the scriptures right (speaking of that i didnt confess an error i made in that regard a while ago - sorry) & looking up the ones that i only give the addresses of & if you think you are wasting your time by reading it then what the hell am i doing writing it? To me this is a disgrace of a sermon as i only covered 1 verse - we are supposed to be doing this at least a chapter at a time, more than one if it is a short chapter & the only time a chapter should be split up during a bible study is when it is really long like 119 Ps; or if the chapter division was put in the wrong place. Any proper study should go around 4 pages long if not longer as any given verse can have 10 other verses tied to it. Well like i said before if you are spending time talking to God & listening to Him teach you stuff about the scriptures directly then you dont need to be reading any sermons you need to be giving them. The only reason i am here saying anything is because there are people out there who dont talk to God for themselves & wait patiently for the answers to their questions. Num 11:29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. - the ideal is for us all to be prophets & knowing all about God so nobody has to tell us anything & at the same time 1 Cor 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. - speaking the same things & not being in division - because there is one God the one true church we should all be agreeing with each other because we are all talking to the same God who is interpreting the scriptures to us the same way. So because it is so hard to find just 2 people who agree on anything let alone 2 denominations i am wondering exactly what is what is what is what about the people who are going to these buildings & thinking they are saved if they really are or not especially when you ask em for a scripture in the middle of the street & they dont have one. If i were to ask you Do you have a scripture for me? right now - what would be your answer? That is not a hypothetical or rhetorical question i would appreciate some answers. This is supposed to be a bible study that means that the people who are reading it are invited to participate & ask questions or give scriptures of confirmation or state differences of opinions - i praise God for everyone who engages me in such a fashion, but as far as i know the rest of the people who like these prolly didnt read it all. K so until next time let us pray that God teaches us the spiritual meaning of todays verse so that we are not preventing someone who works for God from getting the resources they need to survive. * Lk 11:21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. So this was the passage i was thinking about & the thing God taught me about it is that it is saying when you are trusting in the devil & or his minions to keep you safe God is going to take away all your stuff & prove His dominance.
