Aloha Chairperson, Machado, Vice Chairperson, Stender and respected Trustees… On behalf of our Ohana (Foster Ampong, Michele Hoopii and Iaukea Hoopii-Ampong) from the Moku of Wailuku, Maui mahalo nui loa ha’aha’a for allowing us the opportunity to express our concerns regarding OHA’s nation-building process HO’OULU LAHUI. We respectfully ask the Board of Trustees to postpone the Election of Delegates to give Native Hawaiians time and opportunity (i.e. community meetings on all islands) to be better informed of the HO’OULU LAHUI process, trust and spirit. We humbly recommend each island’s respected Trustee, such as Trustee C. Hulu Lindsey for Maui to hold community meetings beginning as early as April/May. These meetings will give ALL Beneficiaries a voice and opportunity to familiarize and to understand the election process and purpose of the HO’OULU LAHUI voyage.
