KENYAS RUTO WAS IN ZAMBIA TO TELL LUNGU TO APPOINT SAMPA - TopicsExpress

KENYAS RUTO WAS IN ZAMBIA TO TELL LUNGU TO APPOINT SAMPA VEEP Kenya’s deputy president William Samoei Ruto, was in the country specifically to ask Edgar Lungu to make Miles Sampa vice president if he wins the presidential by-election. Ruto was in the country late last week but could not say what he really visited Zambia for. He was later seen at Kasisi orphanage, as if there are no street kids to check on in Kibera, the biggest slum in Africa based in Nairobi. Security and PF sources have revealed that Ruto was invited to come in and speak to Lungu on the possibility appointing Sampa vice-president in exchange for acting president Guy Scott to genuinely campaign for Lungu. A day before Ruto arrived in Lusaka, Miles Sampa was seen cutting cakes and holding hands with Lungu in what they said was reconciliation. Ruto was welcomed at the airport by Miles Sampa and Acting president Guy Scott. Lungu was also later seen in a meeting with Ruto but looking miserable and troubled. Sources said Lungu agreed to appoint Sampa vice-president. This is the third person Lungu has promised the vice-presidency. Others are Inonge Wina and Nkandu Luo. Foreign Affairs minister Harry Kalaba is also eying the vice-presidency though people in Lungu’s team say Lungu does not trust Kalaba. There are also murmurings within PF that Lungu is surrounded by people from one region thereby making him a puppet. Lungu’s wife is said to have created her own team of people from Kumawa to protect Lungu. Lungu himself has already promised that he will get rid of some people surrounding him once he is elected, for now he does not want to annoy anyone.
