KEY ACHIEVEMENTS OF UG Alps so far. 1. UG Alps has an over 510 strong member Open Facebook Group - target was 500 by end of June 2014 only 3 months after its set up. 2. UG Alps undertook a trip to Kidepo National Park 3. UG Alps undertook a trip to Fortportal and sounding tourist attractions and Queen Elizabeth National Park 4. UG Alps Participated in the 2nd Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge in collaboration with Busoga Tourism Initiative 5. UG Alps has participated in the Launch of a book on Keeping Hope Alive written by one of our members Julius Mucunguzi. 6. We have participated in White Water Rafting on The Nile in collaboration with Adrift Rafting Training Centre MEDIUM TERM PLANS 1. UG Alps plans to collaborate with The Daily Monitor to contribute towards its features on Travel/Adventure Writing - under this arrangement, The Monitor will assign a writer to all Alps trips. The Independent Magazine is also interested. 2. We plan tovisit the largest private Zoo & recreational centre in Uganda 3. We plan to collaborate with African University of Graduate Studies on various matters 4. We plan to undertake training in social networking and marketing in collaboration with The CEO Magazine, Science Foundation for Livelihoods and Development (SCIFODE) and National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) 5. UG Alps plans to conclude a collaborative arrangement with Nature Uganda. 6. We plan to hold a get-together function to be hosted by one of our members Eng Nelson Kiiza. We thank all those who have participated in the above activities in one way or the other. We are very grateful. We promise to continue organising excellent, educational, entertaining and affordable activities.
