KFPS Stallion Inspection live on Omrop Fryslân Stallion Inspection of ‘Het Koninklijk Friesch Paarden-Stamboek’ on TV and Omroplive.nl On 8, 9, and 10 January 2015 it ‘Frysk Hynder’, the Friesian horse, will once again be in the spotlights during the annual Stallion Inspection of ‘Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek’ in Leeuwarden. On Saturday January 10th from 8.30 onwards the inspection of the Studbook stallions will be broadcast live by Omrop Fryslân Television and Omroplive.nl. On Saturday Omrop Fryslân presenter Gerrit de Boer and ‘Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek’ expert Henk Dijkstra will provide a live running commentary to go with the Stallion Inspection images, which will be alternated with interviews. Viewers from outside the Netherlands can follow the English-spoken commentary on internet or choose the (new!) German version. There will be a mix of inspections and show classes but each year the undisputed highlight of the day is the election of the ‘Champion Studbook Stallion’. For three years running Norbert 444 was the Great Champion, but which stallion will challenge him and get away with the title on January 10th? This will be announced between 17:00 and 17:30. The annual Stallion Inspection of the Royal Society ‘Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek’ is an instrument for the selection of young stallions and the inspection of KFPS-approved Studbook stallions and each year also features a show night. Starting 20:00 on Friday January 9th the arena will be converted for the show: ‘The Partnership between Equines & Humans’. The international character of our Friesian horses will be emphasised during the show evening. There will be participants from South Africa, Sweden, England and even as far as America who will be travelling to Leeuwarden exclusively for the purpose of taking part in this show. The freestyle to music under the guidance of the great Wibi Soerjadi is sure to take your breath away. Joey, the horse from the musical ‘Warhorse’ will put in an appearance and Mintsje de Boer and Gerrit Breteler are going to sing a beautiful song together. All this will be presented to you in a nice medley of show driving classes, an impressive team of lady carousel riders and our youngest participant who has come all the way from America: ten-year-old Erica Matherly.
