KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. here is an excellent definition of RACISM: A Brief History Of Racism Defined by Michael Imhotep of The African History Network Racism from a historical perspective evolved over the 16th-18th centuries. It was fuelled by Columbus and other Europeans like Henry the Navigator, exploring the so called New World and Africa, extracting the wealth, human capital and technology and taking it back to the various European countries to rebuild them because they were coming out of the Dark Ages. Europe was land poor, people poor and resource poor. They had lost somewhere between 25-75 million people in the 14th century due to the Black Death. It became a race between the various European Countries to see who could extract the most wealth, rebuild their countries the fastest and colonize the various countries and islands they were conquering. For example, between 1501-1700 A.D., Spain took 4 million Africans out of African and enslaved them, exported them to Latin America to extract tons of gold and silver which was then sent back to Spain and used to rebuild Spain and to finance its’ military. Once Europeans gained control of the wealth, Charles Darwin started to classify the humans based upon how botanist had stratified plants and began classifying human based upon features, places of origin and who controlled the most wealth and power. Europeans (Caucasians) were at the top, the Mongols (Asians) then Africans (Negros) It was Charles Darwin who essentially developed the concept of Biological Races and his in book ‘The Origin Of The Species’ which came out in 1859. It was something that had happened over a period of about 300 years however. Racism is a tool of European White Supremacy to maintain control. The basis of racism is control of power. It occurs where one race of people control a majority of the wealth, power, resources, media, etc. and utilize this to injure, harm, marginalize, subordinate, etc. another race. Europeans in America control about 87% of the wealth in America. African-Americans control less the 1/2 of 1% of the wealth in America. As a racial group, we dont control enough of anything to do anything to another race of people. We can be prejudiced which means to prejudge based upon stereotypes, we can be bigots which means to have hatred to other races or ethnic groups or discriminate. We dont have the power to be racist. African-Americans can not and are not racists based upon the historical definition of Racism. The problem occurs when so called African-American leaders misuse the term racism to the point that no one really knows what it is. You cant fight what you dont understand. Whenever someone, European-American, African-American says that something is racist or that your are racist, ask to please define for what racism is from a historical basis and 99% of the time they can’t do it. If you dont understand European White Supremacy, what it is and how it works, everything else will totally confuse you.
