KURDISTAN: Courageous #Peshmerga have helped many flee #TelKeppe, and remain in position to continue resisting the advance of ISIS. Peshmerga are attacking many other ISIS positions across Iraq. Joined by Kurdish YPG from Syria, a growing number of towns and villages are being set free, many ISIS are being killed in battle. Peshmerga are being described as a force of good protecting the innocents from evil. However, a humanitarian crisis that could turn into a genocide is taking place right now in the hot, arid #Sinjar mountains of northwestern Iraq. Thousands of Kurdish Yazidis are in hiding in the Mountains after ISIS slaughtered their men, and abducted their women, reportedly selling many of them as slaves. One resident cried, “I don’t see any attention from the rest of the world,” he said. “In one day, they killed more than two thousand in Sinjar, and the whole world says, ‘Save Gaza, save Gaza.’ ” Its #timetopray for the Yazidis in Sinjar, and for victory for the Peshmerga.
